Our Work

No conflict affected country has yet achieved a single millennium development goal, and preventing conflict is crucial to achieve poverty reduction.

CARE International is a leading agency in the promotion of conflict sensitivity – that is ensuring that aid programmes 'do no harm' – and works in 15 of the world's 25 most fragile states. CARE also specialises in peace-building programming, working with communities to ensure they have a say in peace processes.

Protecting women from violence and increasing their participation in peace-building is a priority across CARE.
