This project has two aims:
- To reduce the potential for conflict between Somali refugees and host communities in Kharaz area
- To contribute to early warning and conflict prevention in Amran and Hajja Governorates among IDPs and host communities
To achieve these aims the project will conduct field studies analysing potentially mutually beneficial livelihoods activities to mitigate conflict dynamics. With this knowledge, the project will share the findings with interested parties and train the Yemeni Conflict Resolution Council on conflict mediation and gender sensitivity. The project will also work with the Somali-Yemeni Youth Council around conflict mediation and support cultural, social and sports activities that bring communities together for positive interaction.
The project will also conduct a field study of conflict factors, actors and dynamics in Amran and Hajja Governorates among IDPs and host communities including women and socially marginalised groups in contributing or mitigating conflict.
