This paper (Learning and Policy Series No. 6) presents learning from CARE’s experience of citizen monitoring of health services in the Peruvian highlands. En 2002, CARE Malawi a élaboré la carte communautaire de performances (CCP) dans le cadre d’un projet qui visait à développer des modèles innovants et durables pour améliorer les services de santé. Depuis lors, la CCP est devenue une approche de gouvernance participative reconnue internationalement pour son amélioration de la mise en oeuvre de services de qualité. Ainsi, le modèle s’est diffusé au sein et au-delà de CARE. CARE a maintenant plus d’une décennie d’expérience de mise en oeuvre de la CCP dans une large gamme de contextes et secteurs.
