Catherine was formerly CARE’s Senior Advisor on Adaptation and Resilience, leading CARE International UK’s work on resilience building and community based adaptation to climate change, particularly in situations of recurrent crisis.

Catherine’s background is in research, policy, and practice in climate change, climate change adaptation, and sustainable livelihoods. This includes developing conceptual and practical approaches to climate change adaptation and resilience building. She also has expertise in the design and implementation of adaptation and resilience programmes; has experience in the oversight of the whole programme cycle, from design to evaluation and learning; and is skilled in participatory research methods, capacity building, and training. Before coming to CARE International she worked with Oxfam and the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).
